Among agricultural products in Turkey, onion and potatoes show severe fluctuation in terms of production volume and price. This phenomenon has direct impact on income of producers. On the other hand, these two products are basic consumption goods of households and their price fluctuations affects the consumption expenditure of low-income households. In this context, identifying the relationship between onion-potatoes price, cultivation area and production becomes strongly important. Separate and cross relationships of onion and potatoes with cultivation area, production volume and price were studied for 1985-2018 period using Hatemi-J causality analysis method. Cultivation areas of onion and potatoes and price were found to have mutual impact. In terms of cross relationship between onion and potatoes; changes in cultivation area and price of onion impacted potatoes cultivation area and price.
