The Peer Review Process

Articles submitted to Hagia Sophia Journal of Geometry (HSJG) must be registered through the Article Management System. Manuscripts sent via email will not be considered.

  • Pre-Review and Plagiarism Checking:

Upon submission, the journal first checks the manuscript’s compliance with the journal's submission guidelines and performs a plagiarism check to ensure originality. A similarity detection software is used during the review.

  • The overall similarity rate of the manuscript (excluding references) should be less than 25%.
  • The similarity rate from a single source should not exceed 2%.

  • If the similarity rate exceeds 25%, the manuscript will either be rejected or returned to the author for revision.
  • If the manuscript is resubmitted after revisions, the pre-review process is completed within a maximum of 15 days.

  • Editor/Field Editor Review:

Once the manuscript passes the pre-review and plagiarism check, it undergoes an evaluation by the relevant Editor/Field Editor based on subject relevance, scope, language use, and academic rigor. This review is completed within a maximum of 30 days.

  • Peer Review Process (Double-Blind Peer Review):

Manuscripts that pass pre-review and editorial review proceed to a double-blind peer review process.
During this process:

  • The author’s identity is concealed from the reviewer.
  • The reviewer’s identity is concealed from the author.

The review reports are stored within the Article Management System.

  • Author's Revision:

After receiving the peer review reports, authors are required to revise their manuscript according to the feedback, comments, and suggestions of the reviewers and editorial board.

  • If there is any disagreement, authors have the right to appeal with justified reasoning.
  • The revised manuscript must be uploaded to the system for further evaluation.

  • Field Editor Review:

The Field Editor ensures that the authors have made the necessary revisions based on the peer review reports.

  • If the peer reviewers suggest "Major Revision," the manuscript is returned to the relevant reviewer for a second review.
  • If the recommendation is "Acceptance" or "Minor Revision" and revisions are completed, the manuscript will undergo language checks within 7 days.
  • If corrections are not made, the manuscript will be returned to the author for further revision. If the author fails to make the necessary changes, the manuscript may be rejected.
  • Rejected articles are not deleted from the system; their processes and files are stored for records.

  • English Language Checks:

After passing the peer review process, manuscripts are reviewed by the English Language Editor for language and style. If necessary, corrections will be requested from the author, and the language review is completed within a maximum of 15 days.

  • Editorial Board Review:

The Editorial Board evaluates manuscripts that have passed technical, academic, and linguistic reviews and determines the final publication status.

In case of any objections from the members, the decision is made by a majority vote of the board members.

  • Typesetting and Layout Process:

Once a manuscript is accepted for publication by the Editorial Board, it undergoes typesetting and layout preparation for final publication.
