Beliren Yetişkinlerin COVID-19 Hakkındaki Bilgileri ve Yaşamlarında Meydana Gelen Değişimler

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma, ülkemizdeki beliren yetişkinlerin COVID-19 hakkındaki bilgileri ve yaşamlarında meydana
gelen değişimlerin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışma kesitsel olarak tanımlayıcı türdedir. Çalışmanın evrenini ülke genelinde yaşayan
18-30 yaş aralığındaki kişiler oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem büyüklüğü 551 kişi olarak belirlenmiştir.
Araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan soru formu online ortamda ulaşılabilen tüm bireylere gönderilmiştir. Elde
edilen verilerin analizi SPSS 21 paket programında sayı, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, Mann Whitney U ve
Kruskall Wallis testleri kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Anlamlılık p<0,05 olarak kabul edilmiştir.
Bulgular: Gençlerin yaş ortalaması 22,60±3,49 yıldır. Çalışmada yer alan gençlerin çoğunluğu kadın (%74),
bekar (%88,6) ve öğrenci (%63,6) olduğunu, kronik bir hastalığının olmadığını (%91,8), sigara (%79,4) ve alkol
(%92,4) kullanmadığını bildirmiştir. Katılımcıların çoğunluğu (%92,7) “Salgın süresince sosyal ortamlarda
maske kullanımına olabildiğince hassasiyet gösterdim” ifadesine çoğunlukla katıldığını; “Görmediğimiz bir
virüsten korkmaya gerek olmadığını düşünüyorum” ifadesine ise katılmadığını (%63,3) belirtmiştir.
Katılımcıların eğitim durumuna, yaşadığı yerleşim yerine ile sigara ve alkol kullanım durumuna göre COVID-19
salgınının onlarda oluşturduğu değişime yönelik maddeler açısından gruplar arasında anlamlı farklar olduğu
görülmüştür (p<0,05).
Sonuç: Çalışma kapsamında katılımcıların COVID-19 nedeni ile bazı olumsuz deneyimler yaşadığı ve bu
deneyimlerin katılımcıların yaş, cinsiyet, ikamet yeri gibi demografik özelliklerden etkilendiği sonucuna
varılmıştır. Salgınla mücadeleyi olumsuz yönde etkileyen grupların (erkekler, kırsal bölgede yaşayanlar, 18-25
yaş, sigara kullanmayanlar) COVID-19 sürecinde beslenme, hijyen, sosyal mesafe, COVID-19’un sağlık ve
insanlar üzerinde yol açabileceği olumsuz sonuçlar hakkında eğitimlerine öncelik gösterilerek uygulamalarını
iyileştirmelerinin sağlanması önerilmektedir.

Emerging Adults' Information on COVID-19 and Changes in Their Lives

Abstract

Objectives: This study was for examination emerging adults' information on COVID-19 and changes in their
lives in our country.
Materıals and Methods: The study is descriptive cross-sectional. The population of the study consisted of all
individuals in the 18-30 age range in our country. The sample size was determined as 551. The questionnaire
created by the researchers was sent to all individuals who can be reached online. The analysis of the data
obtained was done using the number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal
Wallis in the SPSS 21 package program. Significance was accepted as p <0.05.
Results: The mean age of the youth was 22.60 ± 3.49 years. Most of the young people in the study were female
(74%), single (88.6%) and student (63.6%), not have a chronic disease (91.8%), did not smoke (79.4%) and
alcohol (92.4%). While 92.7% of the participants mostly agreed with the statement "I was as sensitive as
possible to the use of masks in social environments during the epidemic", 63.3% did not agree with the statement
"I think there is no need to be afraid of a virus we have not seen. It was observed that there were significant
differences between the groups in terms of the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic on them according to the
educational status of the participants, the place of residence, the presence of smoking and alcohol use (p<0.05).
Conclusion: It was concluded that the participants had some negative experiences due to COVID-19 and these
experiences were affected by some demographic features such as age, gender, residence. It is recommended that
the groups that negatively affect the fight against the epidemic (men, those living in rural areas, 18-25 years of
age, those who do not smoke) should in the COVID-19 process, it is recommended that they improve their
practices by giving priority to their education about nutrition, hygiene, social distance, health and negative
consequences of COVID-19 on people and improve their practices.
