İşitme Cihazı Memnuniyetinde Cihaz Kullanım Süresinin Rolü

Year 2019, Volume: 6 Issue: 3, 243 - 253, 30.12.2019

Abstract

The Role of Hearing Aid Use Time in Hearing Aid Satisfaction

Year 2019, Volume: 6 Issue: 3, 243 - 253, 30.12.2019

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of daily and
lifetime hearing aid usage and degree of hearing loss on hearing aid
satisfaction of bilateral hearing aid users.

Materials and Methods: 38 bilateral hearing users (22 F, 16 M; Mean Age:
32.8) aged between 18-49 years participated in the study. The participants were
filled in the Amplification Satisfaction Survey in Daily Life and grouped
according to the characteristics on the second page of the questionnaire. The
evaluation was conducted separately in the “Positive Effect”, “Service and
Price”, Negative Features” and “Personal Image” subscales of the questionnaire
and according to the total score of the questionnaire.

Results: The best SADL-Turkish scores according to the level of hearing
difficulty were observed in moderate hearing impairment (p<0.017). According
to the lifetime hearing aid experience, SADL-Turkish scores showed a decreased
as usage time increased “positive effect” and service and price” sub-parameters
(p<0.008). As daily hearing aid usage time increased, T-SADL scores
increased in all sub-parameters and total score except service and price
sub-parameters (p<0.017).

Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was seen that the
duration of experience, daily use rates and the degree of hearing loss were
important variables among the factors affecting the satisfaction of hearing
aids.
