Skolyoz Tedavisinde Schroth Yöntemi

Year 2020, Volume: 7 Issue: 1, 1 - 12, 30.04.2020

Abstract

Schroth Method in Scoliosis Treatment

Year 2020, Volume: 7 Issue: 1, 1 - 12, 30.04.2020

Abstract

Schroth exercises are the most commonly used scoliosis-specific exercises used by physiotherapists in the world. Schroth is a three-dimensional scoliosis-specific exercise method was developed by Katharina Schroth in Germany in the early 1900s. The method was updated and developed over time by Schroth's daughter Christa Lehnert-Schroth and her grandson Hans R. Weiss. It is widely used in the treatment of scoliosis by physiotherapists all over the world. Current literature has shown that Schroth method has scientific evidence at level II in reducing Cobb angle and improving quality of life in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. This article seeks to review the history of the Schroth method used in the treatment of scoliosis, basic exercise principles and literature research.
