TÜRK OKUL MÜDÜRLERİNİN YETİŞTİRİLMESİ VE ATANMASINA YÖNELİK SUNULAN MODEL ÖNERİLERİNİN LİDERLİK MODELLERİ AÇISINDAN İNCELENMESİ
Abstract
The notion of teaching ability and experince is necessarily
an indication of being a good school principal is now outdated. Today’s school
principals are expected to be effective leaders who are able to manage the
complexities of rapidly changing school environment and to develop good
relationships with teachers and students for better school outcomes. Therefore,
management and effective leadership are widely viewed as the key concepts in
order to improve school outcomes. In 21st century, policy makers and
researchers in both developed and developing countries across the world including
Turkey have been in quest of finding the best possible approach or model to
train effective school principals for the sake of improving student outcomes.
Additionally, the researchers has been trying to find out the best leadership
behaviors that most likely to produce favorable school and learner outcomes.
This current study aims to compare and analyze the key components of suggested
training models for school principals in Turkey in terms of which leadership
behaviors these models aim to develop. In this study, document analysis was
used to collect and analyze the data. 12 research studies conducted by Turkish
authors were reviewed and the model proposals offered in these studies were
compared.
