In this study, the impact of the coup attempt in Turkey on 15 July 2016 on economic and financial indicators has been examined. It is known that the adverse impacts on the economy of the previous coups in Turkey are known. Turkey was dragged into an economic and financial crisis especially after the February 28th coup, which is also referred to as post-modern coup, in which the military does not actively take over the rule. On the other hand, the July 15 Coup Attempt differ from the other coups in the sense that it failed during the action. Failure of the coup attempt did not lead to a change in power, and thus economic and financial management did not change, either. Accordingly, different economic and financial policy packages were not implemented after the coup attempt. In this study, it was concluded that the coup attempt had an impact on the economy and therefore on financial indicators. Yet another conclusion reached is that the adverse economic and financial effects are significantly less than those of the impacts previously experienced.
