Kâfzade Yusuf İzzet Efendi was equipped to teach History, Arabic and Turkish. He made evaluations about some problems of the Ottoman Empire. His evaluations about missionaries and the understanding of liberty was especially important. Missionary organizations in the Ottoman Empire spread all over the empire. One of these places was Adana. Kâfzade Yusuf İzzet Efendi, one of the Adana scholars, was one of those who noticed the intentions of the missionaries early. He wrote the activities of the missionaries in Adana to the sultan. Missionaries in his world of ideas; It was dangerous for religion, state and nation. The Jesuits are the "cem'iyet-i Şeytaniye". Protestants are not behind the Jesuits in their intentions and work. Missionaries are trying to deceive the people in remote places. Kafzade was also knowledgeable in European history, as he was a historian. There were critical evaluations of Muslims' backwardness in education. He emphasized that one of the reasons for the success of the missionaries was the lack of education of Muslims. He saw the inadequacy of women's education as a weakness of Muslims. He also criticized the administrative incompetence in Adana. It was also possible to see Kâfzade Yusuf İzzet Efendi's view of constitutionalism and liberty in the world of thought. According to him, it was necessary to work to create the reasons that would prepare the state's welfare and the happiness of the nation. He used expressions such as gratitude for wealth, gratitude for eyes, gratitude for mind. Starting from the concept of gratitude, he focused on what should be understood from freedom. He emphasized that it was possible to appreciate freedom by protecting it and obeying the laws of religion and state. According to him, freedom was a concept that eliminates arbitrary rule and ensures legal equality among the people.
