RESPİRATUAR BRONŞİYOLİT İLE İLİŞKİLİ İNTERSTİSYEL AKCİĞER HASTALIĞI

Year 2004, Volume: 18 Issue: 3, 141 - 146, 01.12.2004

Abstract

RESPIRATORY BRONCHIOLITIS-ASSOCIATED INTERSTITIAL LUNG DISEASE

Year 2004, Volume: 18 Issue: 3, 141 - 146, 01.12.2004

Abstract

Respiratory bronchiolitis is a common inflammatory lesion of respiratory bronchioles that occurs mainly in smokers. The histological appearance is characterized by the accumulation of pigmented macrophages within respiratory bronchioles and surrounding airspaces with minimal mural inflammation. Respiratory bronchiolitis, sometimes called smoker's bronchiolitis, is usually mild and the majority of patients are asymptomatic. In some patients, the extent of alveolar accumulation and bronchiolar inflammation is severe enough to cause clinical, physiological, and radiological features of interstitial lung disease. In this paper, we reviewed related literature of respiratory bronchiolitisassociated interstitial lung disease.
