Abstract

Romatoid artrit sistemik otoimmün bir hastalıktır. Pulmoner tutulum romatoid artritin en sık görülen ekstraartiküler bulgusudur. Plevral efüzyon romatoid artritin nadir bir komplikasyonudur ve efüzyonun ayırd ettirici sitopatolojik özellikleri vardır. Plörezi genellikle hastalığın eklem tutulumundan sonra, ancak bazen eklem tutulumuyla aynı anda ya da daha önce ortaya çıkabilir. Romatoid artrit tanısıyla 3 yıldır metotreksat kullanmakta iken tek taraflı eksuda niteliğinde plevral efüzyon gelişen, histopatolojik olarak romatoid artitin plevra tutulumuna bağlı olduğu gösterilen, steroid tedavi eklenmesiyle sıvının gerilediği, 40 yaşında kadın olgu, nadir görülmesi nedeniyle sunulmaya uygun bulundu.

A CASE WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS PRESENTING PLEURAL MANIFESTATION

Abstract

Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic autoimmune disease. Pulmonary involvement is the most common extraarticulary finding in rheumatoid arthritis. Pleural effusion is relatively uncommon complication of rheumatoid arthritis and has distinctive cytopathologic features. It may occur before, concurrently with, or after the development of joint manifestations of the disease. A 40-years-old woman, who developed unilateral exudative pleural effusion, while receiving methot-rexate (MTX) for rheumatoid arthritis (RA), histo-pathologically proved to be caused by pleural involvement of rheumatoid arthritis, resolving after addition of corticosteroid to treatment has been reported, because it is rarely seen.
