ORAL KAVİTE TÜBERKÜLOZU: BİR OLGU SUNUMU

Year 2010, Volume: 24 Issue: 3, 197 - 202, 01.12.2010

Abstract

ORAL CAVITY TUBERCULOSIS: A CASE REPORT

Year 2010, Volume: 24 Issue: 3, 197 - 202, 01.12.2010

Abstract

Orificial tu berculosis, a rare form of cutaneous tuberculosis, represents 2% of cutaneous tuberculosis and 0.1-1% of all clinical forms of tuberculosis. The primary form of oral tuberculosis presents as painless ulcer with regional lymphadenopathy at young patients whereas the secondary form occurs at every age and frequently presents with pulmonary tuberculosis. Here, a secondary form of oral cavity tuberculosis in association with miliary spread from pulmonary tuberculosis a 29 years old man had a non-healing ulcer on his lower lip which was not diagnosed for three years is presented in the view of literature. As a conclusion, oral cavity tuberculosis should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of non-healing oral lesions and the presence of pulmonary tuberculosis should be screened in such cases.
