METASTATİK KÜÇÜK HÜCRE DIŞI AKCİĞER KANSERİNİN NADİR FORMU: ORBİTAL KİTLE

Year 2014, Volume: 28 Issue: 3, 171 - 174, 01.12.2014

Abstract

ORBITAL MASS AS A RARE FORM OF METASTATIC NON-SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER

Year 2014, Volume: 28 Issue: 3, 171 - 174, 01.12.2014

Abstract

Unilateral or bilateral metastasis to the intraoculer muscles is an atypical and rarely known finding in non-small-cell lung cancer. Metastatic orbital masses constitute less than 5% of all orbital tumors. Most common metastatic tumors of the orbita originate from breast, prostate and lung. Although distant metastasis can be seen often in lung cancer, orbita is an unusual site. Diagnosis of orbital metastasis may be difficult despite improvements in diagnostic techniques. Radiological evaluation is important in the diagnosis. Radiotherapy or surgery is the treatment option. In our case, radiotherapy and medical treatment was performed. Here we are discussing the diagnosis of primary lung cancer and metastatic orbital tumor in a patient with visual loss. In differential diagnosis of the patients with visual loss, underlying neoplastic masses should be considered.
