ASTIM HASTALARINDA YEME TUTUMUNUN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Amaç: Çalışmamızın amacı astım hastalarında yeme tutumlarının incelenmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya stabil dönemdeki astım hastaları (n=77; ortanca yaş:41) ve astım grubuyla yaş, cinsiyet, eğitim düzeyi açısından benzer özellikli sağlıklı bireyler (n=63; ortanca yaş:42) alınmıştır. Katılımcıların sosyodemografik bilgileri alınmış, boy ve kiloları ölçülerek beden kitle indeksleri hesaplanmıştır. Astım kontrolü için Astım Kontrol Testi (AKT) uygulanmıştır. Tüm katılımcılara Yeme tutumu testi (YTT), Beck anksiyete ölçeği (BAÖ), Beck depresyon ölçeği (BDÖ) uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Astım grubunda YTT puanları, anksiyete ve depresyon düzeyleri kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı düzeyde yüksek bulunmuştur (sırasıyla P=0.039, P (sırasıyla P=0.039, P<0.01, P<0.01). Vücut kitle indeksi
açısından fark saptanmamıştır. Astım hastalarının %10.4 ünün YTT’den 30 ve üzerinde puan aldığı ve bozulmuş yeme davranışı olduğu, kontrol grubunda bu oranın %1.6 olduğu belirlenmiştir (P=0.041). Ayrıca BDÖ ≥17 olan astımlı hasta oranı %27.3 saptanırken bu oran kontrol grubunda %7.9 saptanmıştır (P=0.004). Astım hastalarında AKT puanı ile BDÖ puanı arasında negatif yönde anlamlı korelasyon saptanırken (r=-0.304, P<0.01), YTT ile
arasında korelasyon saptanmamıştır. Sonuç: Çalışmamız astımlı hastalarda yeme
davranışındaki bozulmayı göstermesi bakımından önemlidir. Astımlı hastalarının takibinde, hastanın psikolojik ve fiziksel durumlarının da dikkate alınarak yaşam kalitesinin artırılması gerektiği düşüncesindeyiz.

THE EVALUATION OF EATING ATTITUDES IN PATIENTS WITH ASTHMA

Abstract

Aim: The aim of the present study was to investigate the eating attitudes in asthma patients. Material and Methods: Asthma patients in stable period (n=77; median age:41) and age, gender and education matched healthy controls (n=63; median age:42) were enrolled for this study. Sociodemographic data were recorded and the body mass index was calculated as kilograms per meter squared. Asthma control test (ACT) was evaluated for asthma control. Eating Attitudes Test (EAT), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were applied to all participants. Results: The patients with asthma had significantly higher EAT scores, levels of anxiety and depression compared to controls (P=0.039, P(P=0.039, P<0.01, P<0.01, respectively). There was no difference in terms of body mass index. 10.4% of the asthma patients had an EAT score of 30 or higher, which is suggestive of a disordered eating attitude, whereas this rate was
1.6% in healthy controls (P=0.041). Besides, asthma patient rate, that have BDİ ≥17 was
detected 27.3%, while this rate was 7.9% in control grup (P=0.004). Between ACT and BDI scores was detected significant negative correlation in asthma patients (r=-0 304, P<0.01), but there was no correlation between EAT and ACT scores. Conclusion: Our study is important to show connection between the asthma and disordered eating attitudes. In the follow-up of patients with asthma, we think that the patient's psychological and physical condition of taking into consideration the need to increase the quality of life.
