Dr. Demircioglu has been actively involved in the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering at Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADÜ) since its its founding in 2008. She is a full professor in the Dept of Mechanical Engineering. Her research interests include additive manufacturing, surface topography analysis at micro/nano levels, measurement and evaluation, image processing, robotics, deep learning, and machine learning. She has presented at over 50 scientific conferences with oral presentations in Turkey, Japan, Korea, and various European countries, and she has authored numerous publications (around 200). She knows English and German.

Her academic contributions are extensive, including 2 international books, 38 book chapters, and over 200 scientific papers. She has supervised 1 doctoral thesis and 9 master's theses to date, currently supervising 2 master's and 3 doctoral theses.

She served as a Researcher in the European Union project "Integrated Robotic and Software Platform as a Support System for Farm Level Business Decisions (ROBOFARM)" from 2011 to 2013, and as a Researcher in the "User-PA: Design and Development of a Perception System Integrated Orchard-Vineyard Robot" project from 2013 to 2016.

She is involved in various research activities such as project evaluation in EU projects, peer reviewing for international scientific journals, membership in national and international science committees, chairing sessions, serving on thesis monitoring committees.

He graduated in 1980 from the Department of Engineering Design within the Faculty of Technical Education at Ankara YTÖO. After working for four and a half years as a Technical Teacher, he was appointed as a Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Gazi University’s Faculty of Technical Education. During this time, he completed his Master's degree in the field of Computer-Aided Design. Following his graduate studies, he pursued language training in the United Kingdom, where he later earned his Ph.D. in Computer-Aided Engineering and worked as a researcher. In 1993, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Technical Education, Gazi University. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1996 and to Full Professor in 2002. After the restructuring of the faculty, he established the Department of Industrial Design Engineering within the Faculty of Technology in 2013. Over the course of 25 years, he has held various administrative roles, including Dean and Department Chair, and he continues to serve as an active faculty member. His areas of expertise include Computer-Aided Design and Engineering, Engineering Design, AI-Assisted Design, and 3D Printing. He has authored over 150 scientific articles and conference papers and has contributed to numerous research projects.

After graduating as a System Engineer in 1995, I pursued my academic journey and received a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Materials Design and Manufacturing Program from Istanbul Technical University (ITU). During my time at ITU, I focused on the design and manufacturing of an innovative SMA-actuated smart robotic hand, known as the ITU Robot Hand, utilizing NiTi shape memory alloys. This project formed the basis of my Master’s thesis and allowed me to develop profound expertise in shape memory alloys, specifically in processing-microstructure-mechanical property relationships, cyclic thermomechanical responses, and their applications in robotics. To further expand my skills in the field, I pursued a Ph.D. in Material Engineering from Yildiz Technical University in 2005. Throughout my doctoral studies, I extensively worked on the production of as-cast NiTi SMA-based robotics components using advanced manufacturing techniques such as vacuum arc remelting and vacuum induction melting. Additionally, I conducted different studies on the heat treatment and mechanical characterization of the manufactured as-cast NiTi SMA plates, further enhancing my understanding of these materials. Subsequently, I embarked on a postdoctoral research position at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering from 2009 to 2010. During this period, my focus was primarily on micro and meso-scale digital image correlation (DIC), mechanical testing, and thermomechanical properties of smart materials. This opportunity allowed me to deepen my expertise in characterizing and analyzing the behavior of smart materials at various scales. In 2012, I served as an adjunct faculty member in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Akron, Ohio, USA. During my tenure, I actively participated in a NASA-funded project focused on modeling and experimentation of shape memory alloy-based actuators within the Subsonic Fixed Wing Program. This experience broadened my perspective on the practical applications of shape memory alloys in aerospace systems. Since 2015, I have been leading the Mechatronics Engineering Department at Istanbul Gedik University, where I hold the position of head. Within this role, my research primarily revolves around experimental investigations in the field of robot welding, additively manufactured sensor and actuator components for smart robotic end effectors and pneumatically-actuated soft robotics systems. A significant aspect of my additive manufacturing research involves collaborating with Prof. Ola Harrysson (Director of the Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics at the North Carolina State University) and my Ph.D. student, Gözde Peduk, on the fabrication of NiTi shape memory alloys using Electron Beam Melting (EBM)-based additive manufacturing. This partnership has allowed us to explore the potential of additive manufacturing techniques in shaping the future of shape memory alloy applications. Moreover, my expertise extends to the realm of welding engineering, holding welding engineer diploma from IIW (International Institute of Welding) and EWF (European Welding Federation). Presently, I am actively engaged in the field of robotic wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) at Istanbul Gedik University, where I also serve as the director of the Robot Technology Research and Application Center.

Dr. Üstündağ is a Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at Yıldız Technical University (YTU), Turkey. He earned his B.Sc. degree in Ceramic Engineering from Dumlupınar University, Turkey, in 1999, followed by an M.Sc. degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Gebze Technical University in 2003. He holds dual Ph.D. degrees: one in Materials Science & Engineering from Yıldız Technical University (2011) and another in Biomaterials from Tohoku University, Japan (2013).
In 2001, Dr. Üstündağ worked as a part-time Research Engineer at Kalevit-ROCA Inc., Çanakkale, Turkey. He joined Çan Vocational School, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, as a Lecturer in 2002, where he established Turkey’s first state university e-commerce program and later launched the logistics program in 2004. He served as Deputy Director of Çan Vocational School between 2003 and 2005.
Dr. Üstündağ joined YTU Vocational School in 2005 and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2011. In 2008, he received a UNIDO Technology Foresight Diploma. Between 2010 and 2012, he served as Head of the Ceramics Program and was later appointed Head of the Technical Programs Department at YTU Vocational School, managing nine technical programs and over 1,200 students. From 2012 to 2014, he served as Deputy Director of YTU Vocational School and chaired the Commission for Establishing the Faculty of Applied Sciences at YTU.
In 2014–2015, Dr. Üstündağ was a visiting scholar at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Princeton University, NJ. He joined the Department of Bioengineering at YTU in April 2015 and was promoted to Full Professor in February 2023. He also served as Acting Director of the Health Biotechnology Joint Research and Application Center of Excellence (SABIOTEK) from June 2022 to June 2024.
Dr. Üstündağ's research focuses on the development of nanomaterials for biomedical applications, graphene and carbonaceous nanomaterials, nanocomposites, tissue engineering, 3D printing, and nanomaterials for environmental remediation. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on biomedical materials, tissue engineering, mathematical modeling in bioengineering, characterization of biomaterials, and carbon nanomaterials.
He has authored or co-authored over 49 research papers, 13 review articles, 2 co-edited books, 10 book chapters, 8 patents, 12 patent applications, and more than 100 national and international conference papers. Dr. Üstündağ has consulted with Spinamer Ltd. on novel biomaterials development and collaborated with companies such as Biosertech Ltd., Nanortepedi Ltd., ABC Health Ltd., Bilimplant Ltd., MITEC Ltd., and Occlutech GmbH on biomaterials, tissue engineering, and drug delivery systems.
Dr. Üstündağ has been an organizing committee member of the International Congress on 3D Printing (Additive Manufacturing) Technologies and Digital Industry series (2018–2023) and serves on the advisory board of the International Journal of 3D Printing Technologies and Digital Industry.
During his academic journey, Dr. Üstündağ received an educational scholarship from Kaleseramik (Turkey's largest ceramic company) and the İbrahim Bodur Foundation. In 2009, he was awarded the RONPAKU Award by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), followed by the JSPS Ronpaku Medal in 2013. He received a postdoctoral fellowship from TÜBİTAK and Princeton University in 2014.
Dr. Üstündağ has received several prestigious awards, including a bronze medal at the International Invention Competition (ISIF) for the patent “Biomimetic Biomaterial and Production Method Thereof,” and second place in the academic category at the 7th LivingLab project competition in 2020. His projects have been supported by numerous grants, including the Erasmus+ KA226 Digital Education Readiness project grant (2020), the HORIZON FLAG-ERA JCT2023 grant (2023), the Erasmus Mundus Design Measures (EMDM) grant (2024), as well as TÜBİTAK 1001 and TÜSEB A and B project grants between 2021 and 2023.

Dr. Fuat Kartal is a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Kastamonu University. Located in Kastamonu, Türkiye, this academic unit possesses deep expertise in disciplines such as Abrasive Waterjet Machining, Pressure Vessel Design and Analysis, Optimization of Engineering Designs, Finite Element Analysis, Additive Manufacturing Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing Methods, Product Development, Rapid Prototyping, and 3D Printing Technologies.

Dr. Kartal received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Education from Kocaeli University in 2006 and successfully completed his master's degree from the same university in 2009. He culminated his academic journey by completing the Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at Karabük University in 2015 and was awarded the title of "Associate Professor" by the Turkish Interuniversity Council (ÜAK) in 2020. An engineer who values traditional values, he strengthened his multifaceted academic background by earning his second bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Karabük University in 2023.

In his graduate research, he worked on the Experimental Fatigue Analysis of Automotive LPG Tanks under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Yasin Kişioğlu at Kocaeli University. In his doctoral thesis, he conducted an in-depth study of the Parameters Affecting Material Removal Rate and Surface Roughness in Abrasive Waterjet Turning of AISI 1050 Steel under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Hasan Gökkaya.

His academic career began in 2008 as a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Metal Technologies at Kastamonu University's Vocational School. He continued as an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2015. He has been an associate professor since 2020. During this period, he has demonstrated strong leadership in both education and research.

Possessing a remarkable wealth of experience in academic and technological entrepreneurship, Dr. Dr. Kartal has made original contributions to the scientific world with eight patents; he has achieved top rankings in various competitions with the projects he developed; and he was also awarded the Academic Encouragement Award for his academic achievements.

These achievements strongly demonstrate his commitment not only to generating theoretical knowledge but also to transforming knowledge into technology and products.

İhsan TOKTAŞ completed his undergraduate studies at Gazi University, Department of Mechanical Education, in the Design and Construction Education Program. He received his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from Gazi University, Institute of Science, in the Department of Mechanical Education.

Between 1993 and 2009, he worked as a research assistant; from 2009 to 2012, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Education, Division of Technical Drawing and Machine Design, at Gazi University, Faculty of Technical Education. From 2012 to 2019, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, and between 2019 and 2021, he served as an Associate Professor. Since 2021, he has been working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Design at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. He has also worked as a visiting researcher at Syracuse University (New York, USA) and the University of Bedfordshire (London, UK).

İhsan TOKTAŞ conducts research in the areas of Industrial Design, Machine Design, Mechanisms, Gears, Finite Element Analysis, Conceptual Design, Computer-Aided Design, Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, Biomechanics, Product Design, Geometric Patterns from the Anatolian Seljuk and Early Ottoman Periods.

He currently serves as the Director of the Distance Education Application and Research Center and the Continuing Education Center. He is also the Head of the Department and Division of Industrial Design and acts as the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts.

Aydın Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi'nin kurucusu olan Profesör Böğrekci, 2021 yılından beri aynı fakültede Mühendislik Fakültesi Dekanı olarak görev yapmaktadır. Kendisi, Makine Mühendisliği bölümünde profesördür ve eğitim hayatında İngiltere'deki Cranfield Üniversitesi'nde yüksek lisans ve doktora çalışmalarını tamamlamıştır. Ayrıca Amerika'da Florida Üniversitesi'nde "Sensör geliştirme, spektral analiz ve Hiperspektral görüntü işleme" konusunda araştırma ve deneysel çalışmalar yaparak Post-Doc eğitimini tamamlamıştır. Profesör Böğrekci'nin ilgi alanları arasında Sensör geliştirme, Makine Dizaynı, Mekatronik, Robotik, Otomasyon, Sinyal & Görüntü İşleme ve Yapay Zeka bulunmaktadır.
