Business Cycles and a Historical Solution Break Against Crisis in Terms of Economic Sociology: Ahi Community

Abstract

Modern economics tightly experience different business cycles and crisis. These problems are the results of the problems which are the reflections of supply demand cycle in economics. As a result of these, problems such as; income and social inequalities, inadequacy in social security, development in socioeconomics, unemployment, inflation etc. unearths. Furthermore, the borrowing problems of public and private sector, balance of payments disequilibrium, problems generated by capital movements (especially hot money flow), deviation in the real value of asset pricing and similar financial problems are the basic components of the crisis. However, when many economic based problems are evaluated as parts of economic sociology, within the context of human behaviors are highlighted, a problem caused especially by ethical problems arises. Since modern economics treats human in the frame of highest benefit/profit obtainment and a definition far from reality and format conversion of economic structure in the lights of this conception, make it necessary to handle with regards to economic sociology and philosophy. As a consequence, the need for solution should take place not only in economic field but also it should be human behavior oriented since this factor is efficient in the formation of socioeconomics and sociocultural structure. Ahi Community, as a historical organization, put forwards important solution offers for economic sociology. Ahi community, though known as cooperative trade body, is a more broad and active term consisting a life style, economic attitude and behaviors, principles that define economic life and regulations. The search of economic policy of Ahi community and their true past examples drew attention, so this means it could offer a solution for business cycles and crisis of modern economics.
