Yeşilçam films, which have signed a period in Turkish Cinema, reflected the characteristic culture of its period,
which is called singing films with its unique melodrama structure. It is seen that in many of the films shot in
this period, the popular singers of the time were frequently featured as the lead actor and he voiced various
musical works throughout the film. Although the audience thinks that the lead actor is listening to his voice, in
fact, many of these works are in the form of dubbing. Many of Yeşilçam's leading leading names (who are not
of sound artist origin) were interpreted in the movie by the dubbing method. One of the most important dubbing
song commentators, whose voices were embedded in our ears even though we did not see them in the movies
in this period, is undoubtedly Mr. Belkıs Özener.
In the research, a descriptive method was used to determine the situation. The research was limited to twentyfive
works in the album "Yeşilçam Songs from the Voice of the Owner", which was prepared from the works
performed by Belkıs Özener. In obtaining the research data, written and digital resource scanning, expert
opinions and content analysis techniques were used.
If some of the research results are considered important, the concept of song dubbing is different from the
general dubbing definitions and stands out as the vocalization of the songs included in the movie, and it has
emerged as a profession in Turkish Cinema, especially during the Yeşilçam period. Özener's devotion to his
years with devotion, carrying out his work meticulously, keeping himself in the background and being a
Yeşilçam worker, even after many years, the dubbing artist has overtaken all his identities and is compatible
with the emotional intensity of the films and the attitudes and behaviors of the leading actors in the film.
Özener, who performs the work, has been shown to have provoked the effect that the actors really voiced by
giving voices to nearly 20 leading actors and proved this effect by not having an alternative instead.
