SAMPLE (SAMPLING) PRODUCTION FROM OUD INSTRUMENT WITH "LOGIC PRO X" MUSIC RECORDING PROGRAM

Abstract

Today, with the increase in the use of computers and accordingly the strengthening of music recording programs by software companies, individuals who produce music (composers, arrangers, etc.) have been provided with great convenience. One of these conveniences used in music technologies and sound recording programs is the Sampler module. Through this module, the sounds taken from an acoustic instrument can be used again later. In this way, the original sounds of acoustic instruments, of which sample(s) were produced on the computer, can be used. The DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) to be used in this research is Logic Pro X and the sampler module is EXS 24 MKII.
The oud, which is used in almost all musical genres with its acoustic timbre and unique characteristic structure, is among the instruments spread throughout the world. For this reason, people who produce domestic and foreign music (arranger, composer, etc.) need oud sounds to use in their own works. Arrangers or composers who do not know how to play the oud can easily use the original oud sounds in the music they will produce through the sampler module.
The aim of this research is to show how the sound/sounds (sample/samples) to be obtained from the oud instrument are recorded through which stages and how they are used in music recording programs. With the learning of this system, it is aimed that everyone who uses music recording programs will have information on how to convert the sounds of the acoustic instrument they want into samples.

LOGIC PRO X MÜZİK KAYIT PROGRAMI İLE UD ÇALGISINDAN SAMPLE (ÖRNEKLEME) ÜRETİMİ

Abstract

Günümüzde bilgisayar kullanımın artması ve buna bağlı olarak yazılım firmalarının müzik kayıt programlarını güçlendirmesiyle birlikte müzik üreten bireylere (besteci, aranjör vs.) büyük kolaylıklar sağlanmıştır. Müzik teknolojilerinde ve ses kayıt programlarında kullanılan bu kolaylıklardan biri Sampler modülüdür. Bu modül sayesinde akustik bir çalgıdan alınan seslerin daha sonra tekrar kullanılması sağlanmaktadır. Böylelikle bilgisayar başında sample(s) üretilmiş olan akustik çalgıların orijinal sesleri kullanılabilmektedir. Bu araştırma kapsamında kullanılacak olan DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) Logic Pro X ve sampler modülü ise EXS 24 MKII’dir. Akustik tınısı ve kendine has karakteristik yapısı ile neredeyse tüm müzik türleri içinde kullanılan Ud, dünya geneline yayılmış çalgılar arasındadır. Bundan dolayı yerli-yabancı müzik üreten (aranjör, besteci vs.) kişilerin kendi oluşturdukları eserlerinin içerisinde kullanmak için ud seslerine ihtiyacı olmaktadır. Ud çalmayı bilmeyen aranjörler ya da besteciler, sampler modülü sayesinde üretecekleri müziklerde orijinal ud seslerini rahatlıkla kullanabilmektedirler.
Bu araştırmanın amacı ud çalgısından elde edilecek olan ses/seslerin (sample/samples) hangi aşamalardan geçerek kayıt altına alındığı ve müzik kayıt programları içerisinde nasıl kullanıldığının gösterilmesidir. Bu sistemin öğrenilmesi ile birlikte müzik kayıt programlarını kullanan herkesin, istediği akustik çalgının seslerini sample hâline nasıl dönüştüreceği konusunda bilgi sahibi olması hedeflenmektedir.
