Nonlocal Finite Element Formulation for Vibration

Abstract

Vibration formulation is presented for axially compressed nano beam embedded in elastic matrix. The effect of
length scale is investigated using nonlocal elasticity theory. The governing equations are obtained by using the
Hamilton’s principle. Finite element formulations have been achieved for nonlocal Euler–Bernoulli beam
theory. Global stiffness and mass matrix are obtained.
