COLOR SEPARATION WITH COMPUTER VISION

Abstract

From the first day of existence human beings have been carrying out various production activities to meet their basic needs. Today, the majority of products are produced within factories. The identification, differentiation or classification of these products plays an extremely important role in factory operation and efficiency. Human factors and mechanical systems in factories cause a waste of time, defects or faulty separation of products. According to these requirements and problems, the methods used in factories have necessarily become more functional. Various cases such as whether the products produced in the factories comply with the required standards or their classification are determined according to varying parameters. One of these parameters is the color of the product (or the color of some part on the product). In this study, product images of different colors will be imported to the Matlab environment via camera, and those images will be determined and separated according to their colors (Red, Green, Blue) by applying computer vision and image processing techniques in the Matlab environment.

Abstract

İnsanoğlu var olduğu ilk günden bu yana temel ihtiyaçlarını karşılayabilmek için çeşitli üretim faaliyetleri göstermektedir. Günümüzde hemen hemen birçok ürün artık fabrikasyon faaliyetleri sonucunda ortaya çıkmaktadır. Ortaya çıkan bu ürünlerin tanımlanması, ayrıştırılması veya tasniflenmesi gibi durumlar fabrika işleyişi ve verimliliği açısından son derece önemli bir yere sahiptir. Fabrika işleyişinde insan faktörü ve mekanik sistemlerin kullanılması zaman kayıplarına, hatalı üretim sonuçlarına ya da üretilen ürünlerin yanlış ayrıştırılması gibi durumlara neden olmaktadır. Bu ihtiyaçlara ve sorunlara dayanarak fabrikalarda kullanılan metotlar mecburi olarak daha fonksiyonel hale dönüşmüşlerdir. Fabrikalarda üretilen ürünlerin istenilen standartlara uyup uymadığı, tasniflenmesi gibi çeşitli durumlar, değişkenlik gösteren parametrelere göre tespit edilmektedir. Bu parametrelerden bir tanesi de ürünün rengidir (veya ürün üzerindeki bir bölgenin rengi). Bu çalışmada farklı renkteki ürünlerin görüntüleri kamera kullanılarak Matlab ortamına aktarılacak, elde edilen görüntüler Matlab ortamında bilgisayarda görme ve görüntü işleme teknikleri uygulanarak ürünlerin renklerine göre (Kırmızı, Yeşil, Mavi) tanımlanması ve ayrıştırılması sağlanacaktır.
