AUGMENTED REALITY IN TOURISM: ENHANCING TRAVELER EXPERIENCES THROUGH DIGITAL INNOVATION

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) technology has emerged as a transformative tool within the tourism industry, enabling the enhancement of traveler experiences by integrating digital content with the physical environment. This paper explores the role of AR in tourism, its various applications, and the benefits it offers to both tourists and businesses. By examining the existing literature and case studies, this paper illustrates how AR is revolutionizing cultural heritage, navigation, marketing, and personalization in tourism. The potential of AR to increase engagement, efficiency, and accessibility in tourism is significant, and as the technology evolves, its role in shaping future travel experiences becomes increasingly important.

Abstract

Artırılmış Gerçeklik (AR) teknolojisi, dijital içeriği fiziksel ortamla bütünleştirerek gezgin deneyimlerinin geliştirilmesini sağlayan turizm sektöründe dönüştürücü bir araç olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu makale, AR'nin turizmdeki rolünü, çeşitli uygulamalarını ve hem turistlere hem de işletmelere sunduğu faydaları incelemektedir. Mevcut literatürü ve vaka çalışmalarını inceleyerek, bu makale AR'nin turizmde kültürel mirası, navigasyonu, pazarlamayı ve kişiselleştirmeyi nasıl devrim niteliğinde değiştirdiğini göstermektedir. AR'nin turizmde etkileşimi, verimliliği ve erişilebilirliği artırma potansiyeli önemlidir ve teknoloji geliştikçe, gelecekteki seyahat deneyimlerini şekillendirmedeki rolü giderek daha önemli hale gelmektedir.
