Abstract
Bu makalede, Cumhuriyetin ikinci yüzyılı başında Türkiye’deki böcek zenginliği ele alınmaktadır. Yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda, Türkiye’de 25 takımdan 598 familyaya bağlı toplam 37 794 tür /alttür bulunduğu anlaşılmıştır. Taksonların takımlara göre dağılımı sayısal olarak verilmiştir. Ayrıca Türkiye’deki böceklerde görülen endemizm durumuna değinilmiş ve bazı örnekler verilmiştir. Buna ek olarak Türkiye faunasına girerek tarım, orman ve diğer ekosistemlerde yayılmacı ve denge bozucu özellik gösteren istilacı türlere de yer verilmiştir. Makalenin sonunda Türkiye'nin böcek zenginliğinin daha iyi anlaşılması için yapılması gerekenlere ilişkin bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
