The life expectancy of individuals also reveals how they will be individuals in the future. For this reason, determining the individual and social expectations of young people by examining their future orientation constitutes the main purpose of this study. In order to determine the future expectations of the students who are seen as potential labor force in the sector which has a flexible structure such as tourism sector, the students of Tourism and Hotel Management and Gastronomy Department have been investigated. The sample of the study is composed of university students studying at the Tourism and Hotel Management and Gastronomy Departments of Akdeniz University and Alaaddin Keykubat University. The future expectations scale developed by Kaya (2013) was used in order to determine the perceptions of the students about their future expectations. According to the results, students were more hopeful about their life expectancy and employment prospects when they used more pessimistic expressions about economic expectations. In addition, the students of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, according to the students of the Department of Tourism Management, were found to be less concerned about the future.
