Abstract

After the heart is blind, there is no benefit for the eyes to see,” says Hz. Ali. Because he looks only with his eyes, sees with his heart. Defining love is so severe that many mighty writers have claimed that this definition cannot be made. According to Ibn Arabi, the meaning of love cannot be made. Love is only tasted. The person who relishes cannot explain enough what love is. At the same time, love is a universal feeling. The mother’s love for her child, spouses love each other, as a divine secret, is the best example of the universality of love, whose purpose is to “bring a skin with a skin, a life with a soul.” At the same time, Ibn Arabî says, “Love is a bond that connects the loved one to the loved one, and the love is the existence of the lover.” Cengiz Aytmatov, in his work titled “Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım,” written in 1961, states that love is a labor by talking about the role of energy in love. Although love requires life as much as air and water, love requires effort. It is only to see through the heart, without waiting for return, without gaining interest, without aim. Because the source of love is the heart. The lover said from the heart, seen from the spirit and felt from the heart, is vital. The people who know this best are undoubtedly the natives of Solomon Island. Because these natives would sit in front of the enormous tree, they were afraid of cutting their beliefs and said bad words to the tree. Their purpose is to kidnap the spirit they believe lives in the tree. When the soul leaves the tree, it is inevitable to dry the tree. And they were right. After a while, the tree was going to dry; then it fell over. Solomon is an excellent example that there is no life where there is no love.
Professor Dr. Seref Kara has addressed the living spirit in living things throughout his life. Unlike the Solomon natives, Kara has worked hard to keep the spirit alive, not to fire it. The clearest example of this can be seen in the following lines of his neighbor Hacı Nurettin Gencal.

PROF. DR. ŞEREF KARA’YA MEKTUP

Abstract

Hz. Ali, “kalp kör olduktan sonra, gözlerin görmesinde hiçbir fayda yoktur der”. Çünkü insan gözleriyle sadece bakar, kalbiyle görür. Sevginin tanımı yapmak öylesine zordur ki, birçok kudretli yazar bu tanımın yapılamayacağını iddia etmiştir. İbn Arabî’ye göre de sevginin tanımı yapılamaz. Sevgi ancak tadılır. Tadan kişi de sevginin ne olduğunu yeterince anlatamaz. Aynı zamanda sevgi evrensel bir duygudur. Annenin çocuğunu sevmesi, eşlerin birbirlerini sevmesi, ilâhî bir sır olarak, gayesi “bir tenle bir teni, bir canla bir canı kavuşturmak” olan sevginin evrenselliğine en güzel örnektir. Aynı zamanda İbn Arabî sevgi için, “sevgi seveni sevilene bağlayan bir bağdır ve sevgi sevenin var oluşudur” der. Cengiz Aytmatov ise 1961 yılında kaleme aldığı “Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım” adlı eserinde, emeğin sevgideki rolünden söz ederek, sevginin emek olduğunu söyler. Çünkü bu yerliler, inançları gereği kesmekten çekindikleri devasa ağacın karşısına dizilip bir ağızdan ağaca kötü sözler söylerlermiş. Prof. Dr. Şeref Kara, hayatı boyunca canlıların içindeki yaşayan ruha hitap etmiştir. Solomon yerlilerin aksine Kara, ruhu kovmak için değil, yaşatmak için emek harcamıştır. Bunun en açık örneği, komşusu Hacı Nurettin Gencal’ın, onun için kaleme aldığı şu dizelerde görülmektedir:

Şeref Kara sadece iyi bir bilim insanı değil, iyi bir hoca, iyi bir komşu, iyi bir baba, abi, eş, kardeş, arkadaş ve en önemlisi de insandır. Nazik, güler yüzlü, hoşsohbet, kadirşinastır. Karşısındakinin bir canlı olduğunu bilmesi, onun için emek harcamaya yeterlidir. Çünkü emek sevgi, sevgi ise kalp aynasıdır. Winston Churchill’in üzülmek için bulamadığı zamanı, Şeref Kara “üzmek için” bulamamıştır. Şeref Kara’nın yaşam felsefesi, büyük Atatürk’ün şu sözlerinde gizlidir: “Biz kimsenin düşmanı değiliz! Yalnız insanlığın düşmanı olanların düşmanıyız.”
Prof. Dr. Şeref Kara, çevresinde çalışkanlığı kadar dürüstlüğüyle tanınır. Vatanını en çok seven, işini en iyi yapandır felsefesiyle, Atatürk’ün ışığında ilerlemiş önemli bilim insanıdır. Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi akademik yaşantısında, üst düzey görevlerde bulunmuş, bilgi ve tecrübesine danışılmış, aranan, saygı duyulan kişi olmuştur. Şüphesiz Şeref Kara’yı, ailesinden daha iyi tanıyan olamaz. Onun mutluluğuna, üzüntüsüne, heyecanına, endişesine, zor günlerine, kısacası tüm duygu ve düşüncelerine yakından tanık olmuş aile birelerinden olan kardeşi Gülnazik Dağan, Prof. Dr. Şeref Kara için şu anıyı anlatmaktadır:
“Herkese, ama herkese karşı sevgi doluydu. Özellikle çocuklarla çok güzel diyalog kurardı. Bu yüzden çocuklar da onu sever, onunla oynamak ve vakit geçirmek isterlerdi. Bursa’daki yeğenimin kızı da abimi çok sevdiği ve onunla eğlenceli vakit geçirdiği için hafta sonları babasını yürüyüşe çıkarır, bilerek abimlerin evinin oraya getirir ve sonra da “aaa baba bak Şeref Dayımlara gelmişiz, hadi onlara gidelim” dermiş. Onu görmeden eve dönmezmiş.” Bir çocuktan duyulabilecek en güzel sevgi sözleridir bunlar.
