Abstract

This study addressed the Salam and Parallel Salam contracts with the perspective of conventional and Islamic trade. The futures process is based on an example of a practice on the use of Parallel Salam contracts as an alternative instrument in commodity exchanges. In this context, the differences of Parallel Salam contracts with conventional futures contract are presented. Natural and legal persons, investors, industrialists and merchants may be parties to the transactions under the Salam and Parallel Salam contracts, or they may also be Islamic exchange commodity funds. Considering that the Islamic commodity funds within the scope of agricultural commodities in compliance with the Islamic Law, performing the salam and parallel salam transactions under the commodity exchange will contribute to the depth and transparency of market transactions.
