The School Administrator’s Social Network Use Intentions

Abstract

Today, in line with the rapid changes and
developments in the technological field, as in every field, school
administrators holding an important place in the education sector, should keep
up with technological developments. In this context, the aim of school
administrators' use of social networks becomes prominent. In this study, it was
aimed to examine the purpose of school administrators' use of social networks
in terms of gender, age, title, educational status, year of service and the
institution they belong to. Research is a descriptive study in the screening
model. The universe of the research is the school administrators in Sakarya
province. The sample was chosen from the universe by simple random sampling
method based on the principle of unbiasedness. In the analysis of the obtained
data, descriptive statistical techniques were used in accordance with the
problem situations studied in the research. According to the results of the
study, it was determined that the “Collabration” has the highest score where
“Initiating Communication” has the lowest score within the purposes of schools
administrators’ use of social networks. According to this, school
administrators use social networks more for cooperation.
