Abstract
Programs related to sports activities carried out with the participation of students in universities, both in the university and inter-university competitions, on the one hand, reveal the spirit of struggle, on the other hand, they are seen as an important tool of socialization. This review study conducted to examine sports activities and participation in sports from the perspective of Mardin Artuklu University (MAU), it has been prepared by the MAU Health, Culture and Sports (SKS) Department with the activity reports in the archives of the MAU Strategy Development Department for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons and based on the data of the Turkish University Sports Federation (TUSF). Also in this study, to sports events and spring festival organizations organized by the Department of Health, Culture and Sport for both students and academic and administrative staff every season are also included. As a result of the study, it can be said that these activities specific to MAU, which are carried out by the TUSF among universities and the Department of SKS within the university, have contributed to the development of student athletes in many ways, by looking at the number of athletes and the diversity of branches on the one hand, and the organization of information seminars and the formation of communities on the other.
