Analysis of Children's Literature Books According to Critical Thinking Dimensions
Abstract
The scope of this research involves an investigate and interpret the award-winning children's books in terms of including critical thinking skills. The method of the research was determined as the document analysis method in this thesis. The data from the award-winning children's books were analyzed and interpreted according to the cognitive and affective strategies of critical thinking skills 35 dimensions of critical thinking developed by Paul et al. were used as the scale of the research during the Analysis. Award-winning children's books selected as the scope of the thesis were examined in terms of critical thinking dimensions. According to the final analysis, it was determined that these books include most of the dimensions in the cognitive and affective strategies of critical thinking. As a conclusion, the analysis revealed that the award-winning children's books were appropriate in quality and quantity in terms of including critical thinking skills. As a suggestion, others award-winning books can be studied for the further searches.

During the preparation and writing process of this study, the scientific, ethical, and citation rules within the scope of the "Guidelines for Scientific Research and Publication Ethics in Higher Education Institutions" were followed; no falsification was made to the collected data, and this study was not submitted to any other academic publication medium for evaluation. Since the review was conducted based on existing works, Ethics Committee approval was not required.
