THE FATHERLAND’S FRONT İN BURSA

Abstract

The scope of his trips and speeches nationwide, Prime Minister Adnan Menderes expressed on October 12 that a Fatherland Front would be established because of the opposition’s destructive works (RPP, RNP, VP) against DP, 1958. According to local newspaper in Bursa, it began to greater participation to DP after his speech. Especially Bursa Express Newspaper wrote that DP had came to an influential position in Bursa. It was a large number of participation to the Fatherland Front thanks to its effective propaganda. Especially important names of resignation from RPP and people who had a voice in Bursa by being a member of DP had an significant effect to the increased participation to the Fatherland Front. Therewithal, there were also participants in the RPP who weren’t satisfied with the work of the Fatherland Front. Therefore, it consisted major problems between the two parties. In this context, this study examined the development of the Fatherland Front in Bursa in a comprehensive way. It was taken into account the telegrams which were sent to Adnan Menderes and Local medias in Bursa (Bursa Ekspres, Yeni Ant, Hâkimiyet Milletindir ve Ekspres Akşam Postası) in this study.
