Abstract

Abstract

Manufacturıng industry exports is one of the pillars of economic growth. This study, aim to investigate the relationship between manufacturing industry exports and economic growth. For this purpose, the relationship between manufacturing industry exports and GDP for the period 2001:Q1-2015:Q3 was examined in Turkey. As the analyzed period, taking in to account the possible effects of the 2008 World EconomicCrisis, we used Lee and Strazicich (2013) unitroot test which allowing for one structural breaks in series and Gregory and Hansen (1996) one structural break cointegration test. Obtained results from our analysis, there ise long-term relationship between manufacturing industry exports economic growth in the presence of one structural break. Manufacturing exports were found to be two-way causal relationship between the economic growth. According to the causality tests results the manufacturing industry exports support the export led hypothesis in Turkey.
