Problems of Turkish Language teaching

Abstract

Each language has its’ own thought system and logic in itself. Outcomes become more fruitful if the languages are taught according to this distinctive vernacular logic which is appropriate to their own linguistic systems. The most distinctive feature of Turkish linguistic codes or thought system is leaving the most important unit to the end. All the sentences in Turkish culminate in a personal suffix or notion. It indicates that the most important factor in Turkish is ‘person’; in other words ‘human’. The problems in teaching Turkish will be handled within the framework of analysis of language-thought system, deductive method and meaning-based approaches and be examplified with the differences in practice.
