Treatment of Anterior Fractures With Fiber-Reinforced Composite Resins in Combinatıon With A Spilt Crown

Abstract

Objective: Treating crown fractures directly with composite resins is a common treatment in restorative dentistry. However, the increase in the size of the fracture requires restorations to be supported by the tooth root. In this direction, post systems made of different materials have been introduced, and fiber posts have been frequently used in restorative dentistry for years. Restorations should be completed quickly, practically, and with minimal removal of healthy tissue. Split crowns are a treatment method that has been used in pediatric dentistry for years and shortens the time spent at the patient's bedside. This case report aims to develop an alternative to traditional restorations by describing the use of fiber-reinforced direct composite restorations with split crowns, which can be an alternative to traditional post systems.
Case Report: A 14-year-old female patient was admitted to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Dental Treatment with the complaint of fracture of the right and left upper central teeth due to dental trauma. The patient's anamnesis revealed that she had no systemic disease or allergic problem. The teeth with excessive crown destruction were restored with fiber-reinforced direct composite resins with the help of a split crown.
Conclusion: Fiber-reinforced composite resins can be used as an alternative to fiber post systems. In addition, split crowns offer an effective solution for shortening the treatment time of extensive restorations.

Anterior kırıklarda fiber ağ destekli kompozit rezinlerin split kuronla kombine tedavisi

Abstract

Amaç: Restoratif diş hekimliğinde kuron kırıklarının direk kompozit rezinlerle tedavisi sıklıkla uygulanan bir tedavidir. Ancak kırığın boyutlarının artması restorasyonların diş kökünden destek alınarak yapılması gerektirmektedir. Bu doğrultuda farklı materyallerden üretilmiş post sistemleri tanıtılmıştır ve yıllardır fiber postlar restoratif diş hekimliğinde sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır. Restorasyonların hızlı pratik ve minimal sağlıklı doku uzaklaştırılarak tamamlanması gerekmektedir. Split kuronlar çocuk diş hekimliğinde yıllardır kullanılan ve hasta başında geçirilen süreyi oldukça kısaltan bir tedavi yöntemidir. Restorasyonlarına geleneksel post sistemlerine alternatif olabilecek fiber ağ destekli direk kompozit restorasyonların split kuronlarla birlikte kullanılması anlatılarak geleneksel restorasyonlara bir alternatif geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
Olgu Sunumu: 14 yaşındaki kadın hasta, sağ ve sol üst santral dişlerinde travmaya bağlı kırık şikayetiyle Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Restoratif Diş Tedavisi Anabilim Dalı'na başvurmuştur. Hastanın anamnezinde, sistemik hastalığı veya alerjik problemi bulunmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Aşırı kron harabiyeti bulunan dişler split kuron yardımıyla fiber ağ destekli direk kompozit rezinlerle restore edilmiştir.
Sonuç: Fiber ağ ile güçlendirilmiş kompozit rezinler, fiber post sistemlerine alternatif olarak kullanılabilir. Ayrıca, split kuronlar, geniş restorasyonların tedavi süresinin kısaltılmasında etkili bir çözüm sunmaktadır.
