FUNCTION OF FREE ZONES IN TERMS OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of free zones in terms of supply chain management and the effect of integrating free zones into supply chains on supply chain cost. In this conceptual study, the literature review of free zones with supply chain management was done and the effect of free zones on the supply chain was analysed. In the study, it has been found that free zones, where a wide range of incentives are accepted outside the customs area in terms of customs and tax legislation, offer cheaper production, assembly and storage opportunities within the framework of legal legislation, therefore, the integration of free zones into the supply chain will contribute to the reduction of supply chain costs. With globalization, the interdependence of resources and the rise of competition to unprecedented levels force businesses to excel in supply chain performances. To this end, free zones, where incentives are provided that can lower production costs, can help increase the profitability of supply chains. The shift of production to overseas and recent changes in global trends, regulations and procedures reveal the necessity of reassessment of free zones in terms of business perspective.

TEDARİK ZİNCİRİ YÖNETİMİ AÇISINDAN SERBEST BÖLGELERİN İŞLEVİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, tedarik zinciri yönetimi açısından serbest bölgelerin işlevi ile serbest bölgelerin tedarik zincirlerine entegre edilmesinin tedarik zinciri maliyetine olan etkisini tespit etmektir. Kavramsal nitelikte olan bu çalışmada tedarik zinciri yönetimi ile serbest bölgelerle ilgili literatür taraması yapılarak serbest bölgelerin tedarik zinciri üzerine olan etkisi analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada, gümrük ve vergi mevzuatı açısından gümrük bölgesi dışı kabul edilen oldukça geniş teşviklerin tanındığı serbest bölgeler yasal mevzuat çerçevesinde daha ucuz üretim, montaj ve depolama imkanları sunduğu dolayısı ile bu avantajlarından dolayı serbest bölgelerin tedarik zincirine entegre edilmesinin işletmelerin tedarik zinciri maliyetlerini düşürmelerine katkılar sağlayacağı bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Küreselleşme ile birlikte kaynakların birbirine olan bağımlılığı ve rekabetin daha önce görülmemiş seviyelere yükselmesi, işletmeleri tedarik zinciri performanslarında mükemmel olmaya zorlamaktadır. Bu amaçla, üretim maliyetlerini düşürebilecek teşviklerin sağlandığı serbest bölgeler tedarik zincirlerinin kârlılığını artırmasına yardımcı olabilir. Üretimin denizaşırı ülkelere kayması ve küresel eğilimler, düzenlemeler ve prosedürlerdeki son değişiklikler, serbest bölgelerin işletme perspektifi açısından yeniden değerlendirilmesi durumunun gerekliliğini ortaya koymaktadır.
