Bazı batılı yazarlar İslam topraklarında cari musikinin birtakım özelliklerini sıralayarak bunların Müslümanlıktan ve Kuran’dan alındığını iddia etmişlerdir. Bu önyargılı fikirlere cevaplar verilmiştir. Bu yazı vesilesiyle, iddiaya bir cevap da Kutbuddin-i Şîrâzî’den gelecektir. Şirazi’nin Batı’dan üç asır önce notasyona getirdiği yenilikleri anılacak ve bu yeniliklerin Kur’an tecvidi ile ilişkisi belirtilecektir.
Some western writers claimed that music of Islamic world and its features, ordering by them, origins from Islam and the Qur'an. These preconceived ideas were replied. One of the responses came from Qutb al-Din al-Shirazi. In this paper, the notation’s innovations which al-Shirazi made the three centuries before the West and the relationship of these innovations to the Qur'an’s tajweed will be referred.
