Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify the approaches, methods and techniques preferred by 4th year pre-service teachers of Classroom Teaching while they were designing values education activities. Data were collected by using the qualitative data collection method of “document analysis”. The participants were 4th year teacher pre-service teachers at Classroom Teaching Departments of three state-run universities in Ankara. They were asked to design activities to teach the value of being open minded. Following this, the methods, techniques and/or approaches used by these pre-service teachers were analyzed descriptively. Their preferences were found to be somewhat associated with the values education approaches of “values clarification” and “inculcation”.

Öğretmen Adaylarının Değerler Eğitimindeki Tercihleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Sınıf Öğretmenliği Anabilim Dalı 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin, belirli bir değeri kazandırmaya yönelik oluşturdukları etkinliklerde tercih ettikleri yaklaşımları, yöntem ve teknikleri tespit etmektir. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma veri toplama yöntemlerinden biri olan “doküman inceleme” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya Ankara ilindeki üç devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim görmekte olan Sınıf Öğretmenliği Anabilim Dalı 4. sınıf öğrencileri katılmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarına açık fikirli olmak değerine yönelik olan bir kazanım verilmiş ve onlardan verilen kazanımı gerçekleştirmek için çalışmalar oluşturmaları istenmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının oluşturdukları çalışmalar içerisinde yer verdikleri yöntem, teknik ve/veya yaklaşımlar incelenmiş, bu çalışmalar üzerinden betimsel analiz gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının çalışmalarda izledikleri yollar değerler eğitimi yaklaşımlarından “telkin etme”  ve, tam anlamıyla olmasa da, “değerleri açıklama/aydınlığa kavuşturma” yaklaşımlarıyla ilişkili bulunmuştur.
