For this main purpose, this study investigated the students’ musical images affected by the music lessons at school. The study investigated a sample of students between the ages 9-11 in a primary school in Altındağ, Ankara. The study sample consisted of the students at Beşikkaya Primary School. Through the research, the students were asked to draw their thoughts, images on music and, answer the questions about their drawings. As a result of the research, it was found that there are three categories that children perceive and give meaning to music. These categories are education, entertainment, and affection which could also be used as the main variables in further research on music perceptions of children
