Sayed Yaqub’s Life Background and Artistic Personality

Abstract

Sayed Yaqub was born in Dashti district of Takhar province. Sayed Yaqub Tali attended Dashti Qala primary school. In addition, he also studied in a nongovernmental religious school. In 1973, he ended his studies in Kunduz Institute of Higher Education. In his teen, Sayed Yaqub Tali wrote poems and always used the name “Tali” as his last name. Sayed Yaqub Tali, who has been famous his poetry, wrote his masterpiece called Sanger Sesi. During Jihad in Afghanistan, Tali was representing Mujaheddin in Pakistan. Tali’s poems which were published in Mujaheddin Magazine of Pakistan were full of slogans. Sayeb Yaqub Tali was not only a religious, but also a social individual. Sayed Yaqub Tali wrote poems in two languages Uzbek and Persian. Tali was a classic poet; he produced his literary works for the sake of his people and society. Tali had also written such poems whose contents discussed Turkism. Tali after studying Ali Shir Nawayee, Hafiz Shirazi, Saadi Shirazi, and Meshreb’s poems, which were written in Persian and Turkish, counted them as the idol pieces of literature. Thecontents of Tali’s poems were full of metaphysical, philosophical, political, social, and individual issues. The main purpose of writing this article is introducing Sayeb Yaqub Tali’s biography as well as his artistic personality. This work is quite academic and does not discuss any sensational issues
