Ruhsallık, Duygusal Zekâ Ve Dönüştürücü Liderlik Davranışları Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Year 2009, Volume: 11 Issue: 4, 67 - 88, 01.12.2009

Abstract

A Study About Spirituality, Emotional Intelligence And Transformational Leadership Behaviours

Year 2009, Volume: 11 Issue: 4, 67 - 88, 01.12.2009

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the relationships among spirituality, emotional intelligence and transformational leadership. One hundred and twenty-seven leaders from a variety of organizations were sampled. Leaders were administered the instrument which includes items from Ashmos & Duchon’s (2000) Workplace Spirituality Questionnaire; items from Schutte, Malouff, Hall, Haggerty, Cooper, Golden & Dornheim’s (1998) Self Report Emotional Intelligence Test and items from Bass & Avolio’s (1995) Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire. Pearson r correlations revealed significant positive relationships among spirituality, emotional intelligence and transformational leadership. Multiple linear regression analysis supported the hypothesis that spirituality and emotional intelligence act as a predictor of transformational leadership behaviors. This research indicated that transformational leaders integrate spirituality and emotional intelligence with their work. The results provide some evidence to support the relationships among spirituality, emotional intelligence and transformational leadership behaviors asserted from both a theoretical standpoint and from other studies of leadership performance.
