Lojistik Sektörü ve Ekonomik Büyüme Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelemesi: G20 Ülkeleri Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Lojistik sektörünün milli gelire ve istihdama olan katkıları nedeniyle ülke ekonomisine çeşitli yararlar sağladığı görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda lojistik sektörü, sağladığı avantajlar sayesinde ülkelerin birbirleri ile rekabet avantajı sağlamaları konusunda büyük öneme sahiptir. Bu çalışmada G-20 ülkelerinin 1997-2017 dönemi için ekonomik büyüme ile lojistik sektörü arasındaki ilişki ekonometrik yöntemler vasıtasıyla incelenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda lojistik sektörünü temsilen Toplam İç Yük Taşımacılığı (TİYT) ve ekonomik büyümeyi temsilen Gayri Safi Yurtiçi Hasıla (GSYİH) verileri kullanılmıştır. Yapılan Pedroni Panel Eşbütünleşme testi sonucuna göre panellerin uzun dönemde birlikte hareket etmediği bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Öte yandan Canning ve Pedroni panel nedensellik testi sonuçları ise paneller arasında nedenselliğin olup olmadığı konusunda kesin olmayan bulgular sunmaktadır. Lambda-Pearson istatistikleri paneller arasında çift yönlü nedensellik olduğu yönündeki bulgulara işaret ederken, Grup Ortalaması istatistiği ise iki yönde de nedenselliğin olmadığı yönünde sonuçlara ulaşmıştır.

An Investigation of The Nexus between Logistics Sector and Economic Growth: A Research on G20 Countries

Abstract

It is seen that the logistics sector provides various benefits to the national economy due to its contribution to national income and employment. In this context, the logistics sector has a great importance for countries to provide competitive advantage to each other thanks to the advantages it provides. In this paper, the nexus between economic growth and logistics sector of G-20 countries for the period 1997-2017 has been investigated by econometric methods. Accordingly, Total Internal Freight Transport (TIT) representing the logistics sector and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) representing economic growth were used. According to the findings of Pedroni Panel Cointegration test, it was found that the panels were not cointegrated in the long term. On the other hand, Canning and Pedroni panel causality test findings provide uncertain findings as to whether causality exists between panels. While Lambda- Pearson statistics point to the findings that there is two-way causality between the panels, Group Average statistics reached the conclusion that there is no causality in either direction.
