Genç Yetişkinlerin Politik Duyarlılıkları ile Sosyal Sorumluluk Düzeyleri Arasındaki İlişkinin Belirlenmesi

Öz

Bu araştırmada, bir devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim gören üniversite öğrencilerinin politik duyarlılık düzeyleri ile sosyal sorumluluk düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini Amasya Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim gören üniversite öğrencileri, örneklemini ise aynı üniversitenin farklı fakültede ve yüksekokullarında öğrenim gören 406 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeline göre tasarlanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak , "Politik Duyarlılık Ölçeği" ile "Bireysel Sosyal Sorumluluk Ölçeği" kullanılmış, elde edilen verilerin analizlerinde betimsel istatistiklerin yanı sıra ve Pearson Korelasyon Katsayısı’ndan yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda ulaşılan bulgulara göre, öğrencilerin politik duyarlılık düzeyleri genel olarak orta düzeyde, sosyal sorumluluk düzeyleri ise yüksek düzeye yakın olarak belirlenmiştir. Politik duyarlılığın alt boyutlarından özellikle “ekonomik hususlar” ve “sosyal hususlar”, sosyal sorumluluğun “yardımlaşma” ve “duyarlılık” boyutlarıyla anlamlı ve pozitif ilişkiler göstermektedir. Buna karşın, “algılanan siyasi bilgi” boyutunun bazı sosyal sorumluluk alt boyutlarıyla negatif yönde ilişkili olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca, dini hassasiyetlere dayalı politik duyarlılık düzeyi ile sosyal sorumluluk arasında güçlü bir korelasyon bulunmamıştır. Bu bulgular, gençlerin politik duyarlılıklarının daha çok etik ve toplumsal değerlere dayandığını, bilgi ya da inanç temelli duyarlılıkla sosyal sorumluluk arasında doğrudan bir bağ olmadığını göstermektedir. Araştırma, genç bireylerin değer odaklı yurttaşlık eğilimlerine dikkat çekmekte ve üniversite düzeyinde etik farkındalık ile toplumsal katılımı bütünleştiren politikalar geliştirilmesi gerektiğini önermektedir.

Investigation of the Relationship Between Political Sensitivity and Social Responsibility Levels of Young Adults

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between university students' levels of political sensitivity and their levels of social responsibility. Correlational survey model, one of the quantitative research metgods was employed in the study. The population of the research consists of students enrolled in Amasya University in Turkey and the sample comprises 406 students studying at the same university. In addition to descriptive statistics, the Pearson Correlation Coefficient was used in the analysis of the collected data. As a result of the data analysis it was revealed that students' political sensitivity levels were generally moderate, while their social responsibility levels were close to high. Among the subdimensions of political sensitivity, economic issues and social issues were found to have a significant and positive correlation with the solidarity and sensitivity subdimensions of social responsibility. In contrast, the perceived political knowledge dimension was negatively correlated with certain subdimensions of social responsibility. Moreover, no strong correlation was found between religious political sensitivity and social responsibility. These findings suggest that the political sensitivity of young individuals is more deeply rooted in ethical and social values rather than in knowledge-based or belief-based forms of sensitivity. The study emphasizes the importance of value-oriented citizenship tendencies among youth and recommends the development of university-level policies that integrate ethical awareness with opportunities for social participation.
