Analysis of Turkey’s Competitiveness in Live Animals, Meat and Seafood Exports

Year 2016, , 1843 - 1864, 29.10.2016

Abstract

On the product basis, one of the most important indicators which is
able to use in order to measure of export competitiveness of countries is
“revealed comparative advantage (RCA) indexes”. RCA indexes can be calculated
by using Balassa Index and/or Vollrath Index. The results greater than 1 show
that the country has competitive advantage in the export of the production in
question. In the paper, between 1993-2014, it is aimed to determine the
competitiveness in the export of live animals, meat products and seafoods. In
this context, RCA indexes (Balassa Index and Vollrath Index) related to the
export of 37 products are calculated. The results indicate the condition mainly
competitive disadvantage in the export of these products.

Türkiye’nin Canlı Hayvan, Et ve Deniz Ürünleri İhracatındaki Rekabet Gücünün Analizi

Year 2016, , 1843 - 1864, 29.10.2016
https://doi.org/10.15869/itobiad.259288

Abstract

Elde
edilen sonuçlar, söz konusu ürünlerin ihracatında ağırlıklı olarak rekabet
dezavantajı durumunu işaret etmektedir.
