Analysis of the Relation between Gender Roles, Social Gender Perception of the Health College Students and their Violence Tendency

The research that has been planned as descriptive-cross sectional was conducted at the Health College of Karabük University between February and June 2015. The research sample is composed of 486 students determined by layered sampling method with 95% reliability and 3% precision from different 4 departments.  While creating the questionnaire, the “Social Gender Perception Scale”, “Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI)” and “Violence Tendency Scale”were used. It has been observed that as the social gender perception of the students increases their violence tendency decreases. As a result of the outputs obtained from this research, the number of the studies that will change positively the social gender perception of the students who will serve as medical personnel in line with the studies concerning the determination of their gender roles and the decrease of their violence tendency should be increased and the related lessons should be included in the educational curriculum.

Bu çalışma Sağlık Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin cinsiyet rolleri, toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ve şiddet eğilimi arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.  Tanımlayıcı-kesitsel tipte yapılan araştırma, 01 Şubat-30 Haziran 2015 tarihleri arasında Karabük Üniversitesi Sağlık Yüksek Okulu’nda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi, ebelik, hemşirelik, fizyoterapi ve çocuk gelişimi bölümü öğrencileri arasından, tabakalı örneklem yöntemiyle belirlenen, %95 güvenilirlik ve %3 duyarlılıkta 486 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Verilerin toplanmasında araştırmacılar tarafından literatür taranarak oluşturulan veri toplama formu, “Toplumsal Cinsiyet Algısı Ölçeği”, “Bem Cinsiyet Rolü Envanteri” (Bem Sex Role Inventory [BSRI]) ve “Şiddet Eğilim Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır.  Veriler frekans ve yüzde dağılımları, student t testi ve kikare testi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin toplumsal cinsiyet algısı puanları ile şiddet eğilimi ölçeği puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu (p<0,05), toplumsal cinsiyet algısı puanları yükseldikçe, şiddet eğiliminin azaldığı saptanmıştır. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen veriler, sağlık çalışanı olarak görev yapacak öğrencilere, toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri, algısı ve şiddet eğilimi ile ilişkili konularda farkındalık yaratılması gerektiğini düşündürmektedir.
