In this paper the author aims to trace some semantic correspondence between the Homeric use and Turkish, through the analysis of conceptual structures evoluted in the long interval passed. Although the linguistic diversity, depending on socio-linguistic vicissitudes, first of all overlap of Turkish on Greek, caused radical changes in structures of base, survived components reveal the conceptual conservation, still related to the traditional use (one example is 'to be the spoil for dogs and birds', 'kurda kuşa yem olmak' in Turkish). On the other side, a collateral analysis of the uses and customs in Homeric context, still existing as a result of a coherence between the linguistic form and function, serves to point out the social survivals that the language puts in disposition.
