In this article, the literary press of the 19th century is examined, mentioning
the main authors (from Larra to Rubén Darío), movements (from
Romanticism to Modernism) and polemics that took place in its pages.
Through it, the reader can perceive the ideal of being up to day with what
was happening in the rest of the European countries. Among the topics
that are discussed are realism, the arrival of the genre, naturalism and
the end of the century.
