İSTANBUL'DA ADLİ TIP BAKIŞI İLE YAŞLI ÖLÜMLERİ VE ÖZELLİKLERİ

Abstract

Amaç: Türkiye’de sosyokültürel ve demografik değişime bağlı olarak şiddet türlerinde farklılıklar ortaya çıkmaktadır. Yaşlıya yönelik şiddet, bunlardan en dikkat çekenidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, İstanbul’da, 65 ve üzeri yaş grubundaki insanlarda, adli olgu niteliğindeki ölümlerin durumunu, ölüm nedenlerini ve ölüme neden olan şiddetin yıllara göre değişimini ortaya koymaktır. Gereç ve yöntem: Çalışma tanımlayıcı epidemiyolojik yöntemle yapılmıştır. Adalet Bakanlığı, Adli Tıp Kurumu Başkanlığı Morg İhtisas Dairesi’nde, 1996 ile 2001 yılları arasında yapılan, 17015 adli nedenli otopsiden, yaşı 65 ve üzeri olan 1326 olgu çalışma grubunu oluşturmuştur. Bulgular: 17015 otopsinin %7,8 (n. 1326)’i 65 yaş ve üzerinde bulunmuştur. Olay yeri incelemesine göre 1996 yılında toplamda % 1,9 olan ateşli silah yaralanmaları sonucu ölüm, 2001 yılında %4,0’a yükselmiştir. Kesici delici alet yaralanmaları sonucu ölüm oranlarındaki değişim sırasıyla %1,9 ve % 4,3 ‘dür. Sonuç: Türkiye’de 65 yaş üstü nüfus, 25 yıl sonra 12,1 milyon’a ulaşacaktır. Ailenin güçlendirilmesi ve ekonomik açıdan desteklenmesi, yaşlıların insani ölçülerde yaşaması, evde bakımın bir ölçüde temin edilebilmesi için gerekli düzenlemeler gerekmektedir.
