FOLK MEDICINAL PLANTS OF BAYRAMİÇ (ÇANAKKALE-TURKEY)
Abstract
In this study, 90 folk medicinal plants from Bayramiç (Çanakkale) are presented.
These are listed in the text according to their usages. In addition, special plant mixtures
are given at the end of the study. The folk medicinal plants are mostly used for stomach
ailments, cold, eczema, rheumatism and hemorrhoids.The study was carried out as an ethnobotanical investigation during 2004-2008. Only the folk medicinal plants of Bayramiç are presented in this part. Bayramiç is located in the south part of the Marmara region in Turkey. It covers an area of 1275 km² (Figure-1) and includes the north side of Mount Ida which is one of the most important plant areas in Turkey. Its population is 32.314. Up to now, total 280 plants are recorded in locality (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
