This essay first aims to ground, in the implementation of ‘first philosophy’ to social sciences, the
complementary approaches of Karl Popper’s ‘evolutionary epistemology’ and Roy Bhaskar - Tony
Lawson’s ‘critical realism’; and, thereby, to forge a link between the philosophies of economic
thinkers. Secondly it aims to rediscover the concept of uncertainty and mostly a construction
within the framework of the relationship between the ‘first philosophy’ and modes of philosophical
thinking which were influenced by it.
