BİR ALMAN ÇOBAN KOPEĞİNDE SAPTANAN BEYİN TÜMÖRÜ VE OPERATİF SAĞALTIMI
Abstract
ÖZET
Olgumuzu 10 yaşlı dişi bir Alman Çoban köpeği oluşturdu. Daha önce kulak problemi olabileceği düşünülerek antibiyotiklerle sağaltılan hastanın, herhangi bir iyileşme olmadığı görülünce kliniğimize sevk edildiği öğrenildi. Klinik ve nörolojik muayeneler sonucunda, hayvanin başını yukarıda tutamadığı, sürekli olarak sağ tarafına doğru daireler çizerek döndüğü, tüm ayaklarda bir koordinasyon bozukluğu ve proprioseptif hasar bulunduğu, aynı zamanda da algılama güçlüğü olduğu gözlendi. Hayvanin klinik durumu ve hastalığın gelişimi göz önüne alınarak bir intrakraniyal tümörden şüphelenildi. Tam tanı koymak amacıyla manyetik rezonans görüntüleri (MRG) alındı. Yapılan değerlendirmeler neticesinde, beyinin sağ frontal bölgesinde tümör saptandı ve bunun operatif olarak uzaklaştırılmasına karar verildi. Operasyon sırasında alınan örneklerin histopatolojik incelemesi sonucunda kitlenin glial tümörlerden glioblastome multiforme olduğu belirlendi.

BRAIN TUMOR DETERMINED IN A GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG AND OPERATIVE MANAGEMENT
ABSTRACT
Our case constituted a 10 years old female German shepherd. The anamnesis showed that the patient received an antibiotic treatment with the suspect of an auricular problem and soon submitted to our clinic with the observation of no recovery. The clinical and neurological examinations revealed that the patient was not able to hold the head tight, incoordination of the legs, proprioseptive deficits and perception difficulties were present. The clinical view and progression of symptoms suggested a cerebral tumor. Magnetic resonance imaging was used for a definitive diagnosis. Our examinations revealed a intracranial tumor on the right frontal lobe which lead us a decision of surgical removal of the tumoral mass. The histopathological examinations of the biopsy specimens revealed glioblastome multiforme.
