PAROTİS BEZİN ÇOCUKLUK ÇAĞI PLEOMORFİK ADENOMLARI: OLGU SUNUMU

Abstract

Çocukluk çağı pleomorfik adenomları genellikle 1-20 yaş arasında ortalama 15 yaşında görülen , hemanjiom ve lenfanjiomlardan sonra üçüncü sıklıkta parotis tümörleridir. Çocukluk çağında nadir olup sıklığı %1.4 olarak bildirilmektedir. Pleomorfik adenomların temel histolojik özellikleri yapısal heterojenite olduğundan, miks tümörler olarak da adlandırılmaktadırlar. Genellikle sert, ağrısız, yavaş büyüyen kitleler şeklinde bulgu verirler. Burada iki yıldır boyunda şişlik şikayeti ile başvuran ve kitlesi total olarak çıkarılan, on beş yaşında erkek olgu sunulmuştur. Kitlenin histopatolojik değerlendirilmesinde erişkin pleomorfik adenomlarda tariflendiği şekilde, epiteliyal ve kondromiksoid elemanları içerdiği gözlenmiştir. Total cerrahi eksizyona rağmen insitu rekkürensler bu tip tümörlerin en önemli problemleridir

PLEOMORPHIC ADENOMA OF THE PAROTID GLAND IN CHILDHOOD: A CASE REPORT

Abstract

Pleomorphic adenoma is the third most common tumor of the pediatricparotid gland following hemangioma and lymphangioma. This tumortypically manifests as a hard, painless, slow-growing mass.Pleomorphic adenomas in childhood occur in patients 1–20 years of age median, 15 years .As the alternate term mixed tumor implies architectural heterogenesity is the dominant histological feature of pleomorphic adenomas. It is rarely found in children, where an incidence of 1.4% is reported. We presented a 15 year old boy with one year history of the swelling in his neck. Histopathological examination of the lesion shows an admixture of epithelial and chondromyxoid elements. There is no evidence what so ever; that the histological pattern of the pleomorphic adenoma that has been found in children, is different from the one found in adults. In spite of a correct surgical technique, the recurrence in situ is the main problem with this kind of tumors
