SAĞLIK ÇALIŞANLARININ KIZAMIK, KIZAMIKÇIK, KABAKULAK VE SUÇİÇEĞİ ENFEKSİYONLARI İLE KARŞILAŞMA DURUMLARININ DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, sağlık çalışanlarının kızamık, kızamıkçık, kabakulak ve suçiçeği enfeksiyonları ile karşılaşma durumlarının ve bu hastalıklarla ilgili aşılanma hikayelerinin öğrenilmesi amaçlanmıştır. İzmir Bozyaka Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi’nde 151 sağlık çalışanına konu ile ilgili olarak bir anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Ankete katılan 151 sağlık çalışanının 120 %79.4 ’si hemşire, 31’i diğer 23 hekim, 8 temizlik personeli sağlık çalışanıydı. Çalışanların 118 %78 ’I kadın, 33 %12 ’ü erkekti. Ortalama yaş 36 ± 8.2 idi. Ankete katılanlarda kızamık, kızamıkçık, kabakulak ve suçiçeği enfeksiyonlarını geçirme oranları sırasıyla; %45, %15.5, %58 ve %61 olarak bulunmuştur. Aşılanma oranları kızamık için %4, kızamıkçık için %5.5, kabakulak için %3 ve suçiçeği için %8 olarak saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak bu çalışmada sağlık çalışanlarının büyük çoğunluğunun bu hastalıkları geçirip geçirmediklerini hatırlamadıkları saptanmıştır. Ayrıca bu hastalıklara karşı aşılanma oranlarının oldukça düşük olduğu bulunmuştur. Bu nedenle sağlık çalışanları bu konunun önemi hakkında bilgilendirilmeli ve bağışıklık durumları belirlenmeli ve uygun bireylerde aşılama yapılmalıdır

THE EVALUATION OF EXPOSURE STATUS AGAINST THE MEASLES, MUMPS, RUBELLA AND THE VARICELLA ZOSTER VIRUS INFECTIONS AMONG HEALTHCARE WORKERS

Abstract

In this study we aimed to evaluate the exposure status against the measles, mumps, rubella and the varicella zoster virus infections and to learn history of vaccination about these diseases among healthcare workers.An interview schedule was applied to 151 healthcare workers in relation to the issue at Izmir Bozyaka Research and Training Hospital. Of 151 participants, 120 79.4 % were nurses and 31 20.6 % were other 23 doctors, 8 cleaning staff healthcare workers. Of the workers 118 78% were women, 33 12% were men. The mean age was 36 ± 8.2 . The rates of having measles, rubella, mumps, and varicella history were found 45 %, 15.5 %, 58 %, and 61 %, respectively. The rates of vaccination were 5% for measles, 5.5% for rubella ,3% for mumps, and %8 for varicella. In conclusion, in this study it was found that the majority of healthcare workers could not remember whether they had suffered from these diseases. Also the rate of vaccination wasdetermined to be rather low. Therefore, healthcare workers should be informed about the importance of this issue , confirm the immune status of medical staff and vaccinationshould be made in appropriate individuals
