Investigation of the Use of Multi-Criteria Decision Making Methods in Air Transportation Industry through Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract

In this study, studies using multi-criteria decision-making techniques (MCDM) in the air transportation system between 2020 and 2025 were evaluated and bibliometric analysis was conducted to lead future studies. The aim of the study is to investigate the use of decision-making techniques in the air transportation system and to provide information for researchers. The data were obtained from the Web of Science (WOS) database, organized with bibtex format and analyzed. A total of 314 publications were analyzed with the Bibliometrix R package (Biblioshiny interface) and VOSviewer software. According to the results obtained, it was revealed that the author who worked the most using MCDM techniques in the air transportation system was “Dragan PAMUCAR”, the journal that accepted the most publications on this subject was “Journal of Air Transport Management”, and the most frequently preferred keywords were “model”, “selection”, “ahp”, “performance” and “topsis”.
